Tasty Travels

One of the terrific benefits about being a timeshare owner is having a kitchen so you don’t have to eat out all of the time, allowing more funds for activities and SHOPPING, as well as enabling you to make healthier meal choices than if you eat restaurant fare for an entire week. Our timeshares have a grocery store nearby so we make a food run for the week right after unpacking.

My family and I make use of the kitchen by making recipes we wouldn’t often have time for in the middle of our busy, regular routines. We bake and freeze all of our Christmas cookies on vacation the weekend after Thanksgiving with the fireplace crackling and Hallmark movies playing in the background. No mundane distractions (answer the phone, switch wash, who’s at the door?, put the dog out, let the dog in, put the dog out, let the dog in…) and the mess seems easier to clean up in a less cluttered environment.

Timeshare resorts have so many amenities and nearby attractions we don’t want to spend all of our time in the unit so my family has adopted recipes that make in regularly onto our timeshare travel menu because of their simplicity and deliciousness. Here is one of our favorites.

California Turkey Sandwich

Potato bread, toasted
Mayo or salad dressing
Turkey lunchmeat-trifold so it’s fluffy, don’t just lay it flat.
Tomato slices, thick
Red onion slices, thin
Avocado slices
Sprinkle with pepper to taste

I like to keep it light but the addition of bacon and/or cheese is also tasty. Make it your own.

Add an optional side of tomato or vegetable soup and salad.

If you have any tried and true vacation recipes you’d like to share, please send them to Timeshare Oasis via Facebook message, by email or mail. Our staff with try them out and share some of the best.
